Xbox 360 Gamercard

About me
I am a computer programmer at Lionhead Studios, a Guildford-based games developer fronted by industry legend Peter Molyneux and owned by Microsoft. I specialise in audio systems and am responsible for all audio software development at the company. I mainly work in C++ and assembler (x86 and PowerPC) but occasionally get to dabble in other languages.

I was born May 26th 1981 in Bath, England. I spent most of my life in the surrounding area but now live near Lionhead Studios in Guildford as I hate long commutes to work.

I'm fanatical about cars. I currently drive a Mini Cooper S which I adore, but like everyone else I dream of owning something a bit more exotic.

I am also an amateur musician; I can play the piano but I prefer synthesisers and odd electronic instruments such as the theremin. My favourite styles include classical, 70s analogue, 80s synthpop and modern breakbeat but I will happily play or listen to just about anything.

While I'm not a typically sporty person, I'm an experienced skier and a competent martial artist (Judo and Jujutsu). I also play squash.

Given my choice of career, it should come as no surprise that I play a lot of video games. My house is packed with gaming systems ranging from the C64 to the Xbox 360. Oddly though I don't own a desktop PC, just a laptop. This is because I got sick of the cost of keeping a gaming PC up to date.

I'm relatively easy to contact via the internet. I normally sit on the Quakenet (#c++) and IRCnet (#coders) IRC servers as NeilOfDoom. I also use MSN Messenger but I don't normally distribute my address due to the somewhat scary stalkers on the Lionhead forums. If you would like to contact me via a more conventional means, my email is nwakefield@lionhead.com.
